Ever since I first picked up a camera when I was a teenager I have had an interest in photography. Over the years it has developed into a passionate quest to capture life through the lens, whether that is a landscape beautifully lit by the golden rays of the morning sunrise, a personality capturing portrait or painting with light I am always excited to see the final image.

After gaining an A Level in photography I went on to complete a media production degree concentrating on video. But after many years it was my first love of photography which I have become most passionate about. Capturing an image at the speed of light in one exposure/one frame in the pursuit of the perfect composition, light and subject fills me with joy.

I love all forms of photography and am constantly learning and looking for new techniques to try. But for me landscapes have a special place. There is nothing quite like hiking to a remote location in the dark, finding a composition and then shooting through all the different stages of light as the sun rises. The photography is almost second place to just being there and experiencing that moment. An awesome thing to witness by yourself but even better shared with others.

The big driving reason I started my vlog was to try and share the journey and experiences I have while trying to create an image. An image is more than just the end result. It is a memory, a feeling, a story and video is a fantastic medium to share the ups, downs and challenges associated with the final photograph. I love to watch other photographers’ vlogs to see their journeys to an image, for me it gives the image more meaning.

Even though I offer some of my work for purchase via the shop on this website I primarily started it to share my photography with others. Please take a look around the gallery section, I hope you enjoy looking at these images as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
